Nearing the end of the journey....

So we left our hotel in Triangle, VA at 7:30 this morning (Eastern time). It is around 5:30pm (Eastern time) now. We've been in the throes of travel for approximately 10 hours. We stopped for approximately 30 minutes after an hour of travel due to an accident on the interstate. Lucky for us, when we happened upon the traffic jam, we were right by a rest stop, so we got off there and got out of the car for a bit. Our only other stop so far has been to eat lunch....fast food per my insistance. As much as I really don't like filling my body with crap like McDonald's (which is where we ate lunch today, only our second McDonald's stop of the trip, surprisingly)....my desire to get home to my husband and my bed is that much greater :). That stop took 45ish minutes, and then we were back in the van.

It hasn't been the most fun day of my life ;), but it hasn't been pure torture either. Sometime long roadtrips are the necessary evil of a fun vacation. And, a fun vacation it truly has been :).

I've entertained myself and travel companions by reading aloud from my hilarious book, "what's your poo telling you?" Additionally, I worked on a report for work on my work laptop for approximately 90 minutes and spent approximately 45 minutes loading trip pictures onto facebook. I texted some friends...perused some favorite blogs....listed to some Jack Johnson, Ingrid Michaelson, and Regina Spektor on my iPod. Slept. Stared out the window. Not too shabby ;).

Ok, off to peruse the Internet to try to find a suitable restaurant for a hopefully quick dinner....
